You can check the integrity using the md5sum.md5 file which is available in the image: cd /cdrom md5sum -c md5sum.txt When you want to keep your images up-to-date use jigdo-lite which checks the checksums and doesn't fetch files you already downloaded (from old images). Although I know it isn't the "end all" solution, I thought our software providers might like to include MD5 checksums with their downloads. One could use the checksum or not. The MD5s should match the ones on the mirrors, with the exception of the rpms, which do not come with external checksums. Instead of signing each file with GnuPG, I have signed this message, which contains the MD5 checksums for each file in the 7.3.1, 7.3, and 7.2.3 branches. The checksums are in a normal md5sum

I never get the checksums to come out right. Use the md5sums available at Mandrake's web site. Am I doing something wrong, or is tcp/ip that bad at screwing up binary transfers? TCP is not at fault here, probably. Each packet has a checksum which is tested. Are you certain that you are doing binary transfers?
